I was really putting thought into returning to Disqus, but... WHY?! The channels are filled with haters and spam! I took a good look and see I'm not missing anything, especially this time of year. It's Christmas time and people are not even caring....too many out there passing on the negatives, arguing, name calling... and acting like it's right and justified.
It's too easy for others to tag and post unkind things with Disqus being connected to all who have an account.
I see more than I say.

This set up isn't working.
Auto-mod just deals with cold facts programmed into it - and often gets those wrong.
It can't judge as a human can and see the meaning behind something - good or bad.
And the spam sets my OCD alarm off!

I have seen people discussing old and new channels and the mods, etc...
Partly, the mods make a difference... if they are decent mods. I have seen old channels with some really nasty mods... so a channel may only be as good as it's mods. Something like that.
And yes... too much spam on new channels but that is partly due to lack of real mods and enough to watch a channel at different times.
Honestly, I think it also depends on what you like a channel to be like.

I still like being able to use sites without having to have one account to use them. I wish more were like this one where you can reply on the main page and not need Disqus.

I think if more platforms made their in-house comments more like Disqus and this one, in that you can post images, gifs and videos etc, they would do really well.
So many only allow text, and that's rather boring and limiting. That's why many add Disqus instead.

I didn't realize that. I guess if it were me, I wouldn't even take on a site that doesn't allow what I always saw as the basics.
What I don't like about Disqus is what most DO like and that's one account to run all over many sites.
I don't like the negative ways it's used.

And now I have a new account for Disqus. I was informed Fred is in hospital and I made the account to check in on him.

Oh no, I am very sorry to hear that.

With all the stuff going on these last few weeks, and it'a always crazy busy for me in December and January anyway, I haven't had any chance for flitting.
