Homeless people has been something always considered a problem needing a solution. If you are houseless, you are homeless... or so we were taught.
I was surprised to learn not all houseless people feel they are homeless.
What is a home? That definition varies from person to person and will definitely vary from state to state with laws and regulations.
I see a home as a place to be at the end of a day, a place you can relax and feel comfy.... not the same for each of us. A car, a van, a camper, a bus, etc... so many different ideas of what can be a home.
How much time does the average person really get to spend in a home? For me, not too much since I am working full time all week long and others work more hours than that.
How much work does a home take to maintain and keep it nice? Is that too more than it's sometimes worth when you still aren't just at home, enjoying it?
The cost of a home...house. Taxes, mortgages, rent, utilities... enough people are now seeing a lot of their paychecks go to just having a place to live.
I'd love a camper home... maybe travel around a bit but keep my job. Maybe pay to be at camping parks in the area. I don't know. It's something to think about when you actually THINK about it.
I will not agree that people living in tents on streets or public places are just houseless... I see them as homeless and many have nowhere to keep their belongings..not even a vehicle. Many most likely don't even have a job.
