Like any dumpster, we may find a lot of trash, but there may be things with some value in those dumpsters too! Let's see what we can dig up! I still love this topic! All Disqus replies are gone...but I still know a lot of Disqus trash left and some things I found worth salvaging! lol

I cannot believe the amount of users there to harass and insult others... even long term people can be considered trolls.

My treasure is (don’t know if you all remember him) But, Bildoar. His avatar was a Gnome and he owned The Jester Castle. I used to moderate for him. He was genuine and kind. He passed away and I took ownership of his Channel until Disqus did away with channels

I vaguely remember Bildoar, although I don't know if I ever interacted with the person.

You’re welcome, Breezy and I left Disqus, for a time, after pandemic. My Father passed, late 2019. The pandemic hit and the next year our daughter got married and that was a busy time, too.

I found out from another old Disqus friend, I still have contact with sporadically that they had created channels 2.0. I thought about for a few months and then created my “Coat” acct last November not knowing if I would stay for long. I’m still there. lol

Many new (way younger) people than before. Some of it is insane. But, Disqus has always been a little bit crazy anyway. I don’t check my email often. Usually every couple of weeks or once a month. I’ll stop in again and thank you for having me over

As for the disqus channels they have now, I'm not impressed and don't much care for a lot of it. Same people making accounts and deleting and doing the same again and again, same people fighting and insulting each other... although some seem to be missing from it all now.
I think it's too much aggravation for me.

I haven't been on much lately...internet in particular.
We have a family emergency which is stable for the time being.

The chit chat channel is a mess. Even just since I returned in November. Seems like alot of teenagers are there, plus the one troll person who continues to make accts and get banned each week. He started harassing me as soon as I rejoined. ‍� No clue. People refer to him as “Huggy”

At first, I attempted to be polite. Then ignore. Then reason with. Nothing worked. So now … I give as good as I get and then block him. Haha

During Channels 1.0 - I really never had issues with anyone. Or, I tried to sidestep any drama. Not always easy to do. I kind of kept to myself and just jumped around a lot. But, for most part kept to my own channel.

So same thing for 2.0. I just try to go where I want and if people are arguing I leave. If , the troll guy gives me trouble I just give it right back and then when I get tired of it I block him

@Layne To change avatar, go to "profile" tab at top of page, when in your profile settings, click on "avatar" tab and it should be easy enough to finish. 

The chit chat channel should have been a fun page with a variety of topics, but that was soon killed off. lol Chit chat, in my opinion is just chatting without having to worry about the topic, but evidently not. The moderating seems to be slow and spam/advertising topics seem to be okay. I'm really confused about it, but don't like it either way.
I quit paying attention to most of it.
Other channels have repeat offenders too. I see them and I have set my own boundaries to stay away from it all. Too may arguments and all... along with some trying to fool us. 

The family emergency has turned out well for now. Thank you.

Oh, it's the same old same old from the same old people on there.
Some people never change. I'm not sure why I keep expecting them to or at least hoping they might.
I am nothing if not an optimist.

But there are some good people who you can discuss topics with and come away with something positive from the experience, such as the sharing of knowledge or a different viewpoint on something
But I am not into the eternal victimhood or the endless passive-aggressive memes and all of that jazz!
That gets old very quickly.

And the site embeds seem to be lagging, and Disqus aren't in until Monday, so I hope the big rubber band can hold up until then.

I saw some of what is going on with channels and it grows old... one person for years, coming back with new accounts.. at least 20 if not more. Almost sure I've seen that person on a different site too. When I got rid of my accounts, I came back with the same name and my story doesn't change. With many on those channels, they target and harass, make accounts way too often, people arguing and fighting and I even got accused of being a different account person. 
It's just not fun or worth it. And when I see those same people on different sites using disqus... I just don't want to be around them.
From my experiences, people would mainly rather post pictures, songs and memes rather than really give input on something. I'm more for talking in earnest about gardening, building a greenhouse, using a chain saw, crafts and so much more! Real people with real ideas and even trying what others post about. Most won't even try a recipe. 
Not saying there isn't any good people, but most just don't have the time or care to get too in depth.

Doe, Counselor, Rocket City Woman, Lucky Lady and I suspect she was prob that “Sam Hay” supposedly a (guy) who showed up for about a week.  She has never given ME any issues.  But, like I told her: I am not dumb.  She is pretty easy to recognize.  Sorry she gave you trouble Kieran.  *sigh* 

What I don’t like about the continual creation/deletion of accts as in create, comment for a week or even a month and then delete.  Then two days later come back and pretend it’s a brand new person.  It ruins the discussions with big gaps in the thread full of deleted comments.  I refuse to create an OP on Chit Chat again because when Rocket City deleted that time it completely decimated my discussion.  Ridiculous. 

I believe Wesley (if you all remember him) he used to be on FNB she harassed him.  Idk what the story was with Shelly and Friends. Blue mentioned that.  I have asked Shelly about it (I sometimes email her still) because we shared our emails before she and her husband Jamie closed their site.  

Shelly said they just thought this doe person was someone who got hold of their Facebook acct or something.  

Again, she have never given ME any issues.  But, at same time have to tread lightly.  Otherwise, lol well … look Kieran you were in crosshairs for the weekend until you reinstated her to Lifestyle channel.  lol

So like I’ve said I just try to get along with everyone.  Becauee it’s very true we have no idea what people are dealing with irl. 

As for Huggy - there have been a few times I’ve questioned if he really does  believe some of the stories he is telling. LOL they are soooo detailed!  Omg

The person you are talking about is one who goes way back. I've known her under so many different names and can usually spot her new accounts easily. 
As for making a mess of people's topics, she deletes very often and it leaves a lot of gaps. (I see another person's comments are missing on one topic for sure)
There's too many on channels I just don't want to be around. It may be new channels, but nothing new about a lot of the people hanging there. 

I don't know much about what went on with Shelly and "Doe" but do know Doe is good at making multiple accounts at one go and that's how I first found out how bad it can be. She will make male accounts too.

Kieran should have stood his ground, but I guess that is something he felt he should reconsider. 

Not sure what happened to Wesley since I haven't seen him around in a long time. Of course, I don't really go on Disqus sites much either. lol

Back to setting boundaries... I tire of trying to get along with people who have been doing the same for many years.... even on my site when disqus was attached. I like not seeing all the B.S. that was the normal, including attacking Doe every time someone figured out it was her. (I always thought they should ignore and move on instead of attacking and insulting. If you don't like the person, just don't interact in comments or on the person's OP)

I see you started a topic about Christmas in July.
It sure feels like it here with a new baby! lol

I gave her a three-day timeout on Lifestyle for the unnecessary drama, and it was going to expire later in the day when I lifted it.
I preferred to be around for a few hours once that happened in case she decided to pick up where she left off.
If so, it would have been a permanent ban.
I gave her a warning before I gave the timeout and I dealt with her as I would have anyone else and the fact that she was causing me personal grief was beside the point. I was angry that she was attacking Robin and that she was dragging innocent stuff from DH into the channels trying to make out that she was a victim yet again, but I tried not to let that cloud my judgment.

She has a narcissistic personality, and I would go as far as to say she has full-blown narcissistic personality disorder. Most of what she comes out with are lies and needless lies. Even when she says she will be busy all week and won't be around and then comes back an hour later and posts for hours. She is in her own little fantasy world. She tries to manipulate and use people. She tries to trigger emotional responses and doesn't care if they are good or bad.
Anyway, you can read up on all of that if you are interested.
They do very predictable things, especially when confronted.
The first is deny, deny, deny. They will swear black is white rather than admit they did something, even when someone has indisputable evidence.
As she did over S&F. She doxxed Jamie and Shelly, Thunder told me. But she continues to deny. She was one of the biggest reasons for that site closing. Not the only one - Disqus and the direction it was heading and is heading was also a factor.

I didn't just tolerate her lies and stupid pretending on DH until she nuked - one chance over there - she emailed me both as RCW, and also as LL claiming my posters were trolling her - and thought I was seriously stupid enough to believe the crap she was peddling. "I am new. I don't know who RCW is etc etc" I knew who she was in both accounts. I don't like people lying to my face when I have already told them that I know the truth. My posters asked because they have had troll problems from a female German troll for years. They asked who LL was, in case it was her trying to get around the pre-moderation to bother them, so I told them without going into details. I don't lie to my communities and didn't want them running into LL elsewhere and getting the "I'm a totally new person to Disqus" crap!
The second thing they do is Attack, just as she did, not just me, but Robin simply because she upvoted my comment on DH pointing out who she is. They wear a mask of being sweet and kind to try to manipulate, but if you don't do what they want or expect, BANG narcissistic rage - a completely OTT attack on all they feel have attacked them, complete with the passive-aggressive crap as she tried in her apologies discussion. She was in the wrong, but we should 
The third thing they do is invert reality - they have a poor grasp of reality anyway and in their fantasy world they are the perpetual victim and you are the offender. They make up to be down and left to be right, and right to be wrong!
The fourth thing they will try is detachment but that wouldn't work and she knew it. I would be overjoyed if I never had to see her ever again!
The fifth thing is they try to discredit the person who has all the evidence against them. Good luck on that one, Doe.

I tolerate her on the channels, because that comes with the rest of the responsibilities, but she has had her one and only chance on any site that I mod on and definitely on the ones I own. Most of the site owners I mod for ask me to block her as soon as a new account appears for good reason. You avoid all of the drama, the manipulation, the perpetual lying, and constant victimhood.
And I have a long fuse, but it isn't infinite.
And her equating my silence and tolerance for stupidity makes it very short.
Anyway, I have no doubt the LL account will get nuked in time, like the rest before it, and rinse and repeat ad infinitum!
I will tolerate any new account on the channels as long as it stays away from the passive-aggressive drama, and I just advise people to ignore or block if they don't want to see it being played out on the permanent loop.
Watching a narcissist in action gets old very quickly!

I try not to judge too harshly or too fast. I sometimes say I am busy or won't be back and still end up back. lol 
Just not to the extent this person does. And I hope people realize what I have to say about myself and home life is true... I just don't get overly personal on internet or with people who give "off vibes". 
I have seen this person do exactly the same things with so many different accounts.... and I have seen others track her down on one disqus channel for sure... always attacking her.. but not on your personal channel.
Honestly, it grows old, even if it isn't about her. People seem to think the channels are meant for feuds, arguments, insults, etc.... 
Nothing new under the sun... second time that's being said today. lol

Yes, I grow tired of all of that - the same everything on permanent loop. The same old people fighting with the same old people over the same old things.

That account—brand new today—flies in straight on her discussion on Lifestyle—has commented nowhere else, straight slap-bang into the channels and only there—and she greets it like a long-lost friend!
I seriously have better things to do with my time than partake in puppet shows.

So, I will go and do something much more productive with my time.

The new account isn't new. I find it really odd how some "new" accounts will show up right  in the middle of comments. 
I don't like when strange/new accounts try to joke around or post things that make it seem like we're all buddies. I dealt with way too much of that to even care to try that now.
